The bus complements the relationship building and resource sharing that are Transformazium's core purposes.
It will be a conversation starter, an information kiosk, and mobile art installation that meets our neighbors in our shared public space.
Vehicle for Communication will give us the visual presence in the community to initiate conversation, create relationships, and expand upon existing community networks and resources as well as the mobility and capacity to identify local resources and transport them. As these resources are combined with ideas and excitement generated by the Braddock community, they will be transformed into tangible social and economic benefit.
Lately the bus has been used to bring dirt and compost to neighborhood raised bed gardens, scrap metal from the local library to the scrap yard, and artists, local youth assistants, and supplies to art installation sites in Braddock and North Braddock (visit our Points of Interest page). Maybe soon it will be used as a mobile silkscreen studio, a bookmobile, or roving dance party starter. Or to transport a community group to an art show or dance performance or Steelers game. . . .
The Possibilities are Unlimited!
